Alyssa Junious

Alyssa Junious is a dancer, choreographer, and performer in San Diego.

Why do I want to entertain? Well, I believe it is because I enjoy telling stories. I love transporting people from their daily lives and transporting them to another world, a world that brings them joy, a world that helps them heal, a world that helps them relate to humanity.

Alyssa Junious has a deep passion for the performing arts. As an artist her work is influenced by her varied training in dance, music and theatre. She received her B.F.A in Performance from the University of California Irvine. At UCI she was able to study and train under living legend and world renowned choreographer Donald McKayle in his Etude Ensemble. She was also a member of the collegiate hop hop team CADC, and Entity Contemporary Dance Company.

Alyssa choreographs in San Diego County for dance teams, local studios and dance companies. In 2015, she won the “Audience Choice” award at San Diego Dance Theatre’s Young Choreographers Showcase. In 2018 she was a choreography finalist at the Front and Main Dance Festival in Temecula.

Professionally, Alyssa has danced for Disney, Entity Contemporary Dance Company, IsadoraNOW, Visionary Dance Theatre. and PGK Dance Project. While dancing for Disney she performed with Demi Lovato, Anika Noni Rose, and Cheryl Burke.

Currently, she performs locally with PGK Dance Project.  She also created Continuum Dance Project, a performance based company as a platform to create work and develop her artistic voice as a choreographer. Aside from performing and choreographing, she teaches dance and pilates in North County San Diego.

Alyssa has aspirations to diversify her performance skills and is now pursuing musical theatre performance opportunities in the San Diego area.  She is grateful to be a William Male Foundation grant recipient.
