Alyssa Rose (they/them) is a queer, radical, process-based multimedia artist living in San Diego, CA. Alyssa holds a B.A. in Pure Mathematics and Dance from the University of California, Santa Cruz. As a neurodivergent individual, Alyssa seeks refuge in expressing emotion, feeling, and idea through art. Dance, in particular, allows Alyssa to expand and move through all that they are, without holding fast to any one identity. Alyssa's art practice is rooted in improvisation, which they believe brings us closer to our inner landscape, encourages vulnerability, and connects us with ourselves and our community. Alyssa enjoys painting, sculpting, dancing, meditating, the Disco Riot community, hiking amongst flowers, and being in awe of mama nature.
