“WMF has helped me forge amazing relationships with different communities in San Diego where I feel safe and valued as an artist. With the grants I have received, I have been able to really invest in my productions and work. I have found work off of the connections made through the WMF. I feel very fortunate and supported.”

Cora Lee was born and raised in San Diego. She writes a monthly column for Mail Mag called "Dispatch from Paradise," which serves as an underground guide to America's Finest City. In 2024, Cora received a grant to compile the first year of "Dispatch from Paradise" into a book, and to continue exploring and archiving San Diego's eccentricities.
Alissa Tu (she/her) is a Vietnamese American writer, dancer, and beauty pageant princess. Her work hinges on play, curiosity, and tenderness to soak the reader into her writing. In 2024, Alissa graciously and joyfully received a grant to create Bus Tickets, a chapbook that explores and “tenderfies” San Diego’s public transportation.
