Eric Hagen and Jersten Seraile are theatre artists based in San Diego.
They are recent graduates of The Old Globe/University of San Diego Shiley Graduate Theatre program, and have performed professionally at theaters across the country, including at The Old Globe in San Diego.
Eric has produced original work in Minneapolis with a number of independent theatre companies, and Jersten made his Off-Broadway playing Langston Hughes in his one-man play Harlem Blooms in Spring (Theatre Row). As theatremakers, they are drawn to seldom seen stories told through dynamic theatricality, movement, and song. Their work centers around bringing communities together through the intimate exchange of live performance, and the empathetic conversations that come about through urgent, immediate storytelling.
With the generous grant from the William Male Foundation, they are producing Jersten’s one-man show God Done Opened The Sky!!!, a personal story set in Louisiana culture and imagery. This original work combines physical theatre and poetic lyricism in a way seldom seen on stages, telling a story rarely told. They are deeply grateful to the William Male Foundation for their generous support in bringing this new work to the San Diego community.
