Frank Kensaku Saragosa is a San Diego based justice-impacted writer with lived experience of being unsheltered. His work won the 2022 PEN America Prison Writing Award in Fiction and Nonfiction Essay, and he was named a 2023 LAMBDA Literary Foundation Emerging Voices Fellow. The San Diego Unhoused Collective, the artist collective he co-founded with Jason Ritchie, was recently awarded the Columbia University INCITE-Assembling Voices Fellowship. The Unhoused Collective is currently developing an immersive and interactive theatrical experience that seeks to center the lives, voices and stories of people who’ve lived on the streets in the social narratives about homelessness.
