Giovanna Francisco (she/her) is a San Diego based movement artist, originally from Palm Springs, CA. Her art is inspired by plants and wildlife, vulnerability, and authentic human expression. She is currently an emerging artist in residence at the Arts District Liberty Station (2025-2026) and a company dancer for San Diego Dance Theater.
She studied at UCSD earning a BA in dance and a BA in sociology with a minor in education studies. Giovanna has been an artist in residence in the garden space of Art Produce (2023) and DISCO RIOT’s S P A C E Rising Residency (2024). She has choreographed for San Diego Dance Theater’s Live Arts Fest and Emerging Choreographers Showcase and Prize as well as Malashock Dance Company’s production, SEED.
The William Male Foundation is generously supporting her evening length work, our inner worlds, a multi-disciplinary dance performance utilizing voice, choreography, improvisation, interactive elements, and experimental sound.
