Martha Flores

My name is Martha Flores, I am very passionate about video production and plan to study Cinema and Digital Media at the University of California - Davis. I was born and raised in San Diego, California and recently graduated from Otay Ranch High School. During my time at Otay Ranch, I had the pleasure of being President of the Black Student Union, Co-Founder of Sociedad Academica Hispana, Captain of the Girls Waterpolo team, and Head of the Technology department (ASB). I was originally introduced to video production in the 6th grade, when my late teacher Mr. Lee Sison asked me if I could edit the school news broadcast, The Daily Comet, knowing nothing about video editing I said yes. Fast forward into high school I joined the Associated Student Body and became Head of the Technology department my first year. I lead all video productions for assemblies, sports videos and advertised school events on all social media platforms. ASB made me realize that this is the career path I would like to pursue. I am extremely grateful to have been chosen for the William Male Foundation Scholarship. Receiving this scholarship will tremendously alleviate much of the stress and financial burden that is included while pursuing higher education. I am extremely excited for the future and honored to be a William Male Foundation Recipient.
